GROUPON DISCOUNT SHOPPING

Happy New Year Readers.

I would like to introduce you to a website that I have been testing for the past year. I have bought goods and saved money throughout 2011 with this website and have had no problems doing so.

After the expense of Christmas we could all do with saving money on our purchases so I would like to introduce you to the website called Groupon

Some of you may have heard of it, looked at it and just thought it is some sort of scam website I urge you to take another look register and keep an eye on their subscription e-mails in your inbox. Groupon is no scam and you are not forced in any way to buy neither do you have to pay a subscription charge. Rather than me trying to explain how the system works I will extract a little of their website into my blog below.

How does it work?

General information

What is Groupon UK?
Each day, Groupon UK features an unbeatable deal on the best stuff to do, see, eat, and buy in your city. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won’t find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power!"

I like todays deal - how do I get it?
Just click "Buy Now" before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people signs up, we’ll charge your card and send you a link to print your coupon. If not enough people join, no one gets it (and you won’t be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the deal! Groupon is also fun to use with parents, grandparents, children, partners, neighbours, teachers, colleagues, school friends and comrades, and men who wear monocles. Work together to live your city for less!

What happens if the deal doesnt reach its required minimum number of purchasers?
If not enough people sign up, then the deal is cancelled, and you wont be charged. Better luck next time! So if you really want the deal, be sure to either beg or threaten your friends and family.

Do I need to make use of my deal the same day I buy it?
Quite the contrary, though most coupons have an expiration date.

I bought a deal - how do I use it?
Once you’re charged, you’ll receive an e-mail with a link to sign in and print your voucher. It has redemption instructions and a map right on it! The best option however is to print your coupon through the My Orders tab, accessible by clicking My Account in the top right corner once you are logged in.

Can I buy a Groupon deal as a gift for someone else?
Yes. We communicate with all the businesses that we work with that coupons can be gifted, and unless the fine print specifically states otherwise, gift away!

Is Groupon safe?
Extremely. Your credit card number is transmitted by SSL directly to a secure electronic vault. At no time is your credit card information stored on our servers. Nonetheless, this security only applies if you log out of your Groupon account after use! It is your responsibility to keep your Groupon account secure

Today's deal is an excellent choice for the beginning of 2012 for you or a loved one. You can make a new years resolutions come true because Groupon is offering up to 63% off E-Lite electronic cigarettes and these I can personally recommend. The E-lite cigarettes have been featured on the BBC's EastEnders show on many occasions and are used as an aid for given up smoking.

Woolworths holds huge stock sale !

The administrator of Woolworths has launched a massive fire sale of the retailer's stock as it continues to talk to potential buyers of the stricken chain

All goods in all of Woolworths 800 stores will be sold at a discount of up to 50pc. Deloitte, the administrator, has hired extra staff and said that it anticipates "increased footfall" in the stores.

Retail observers predicted that the so-called Biggest Ever Sale could lead to "chaos" in some of Woolworths' high street stores.

FREE MONEY FOR CHRISTMAS !

Claim your £520 / £1,040 Child Tax Credit!

If you have a child born between 1986 and 2003, you are entitled to £520 or even £1,040

It is easy to claim but you must do so before the 31st January

The year before Tax Credits were introduced there was a different non-means tested allowance available which was never advertised by the inland revenue.

It is called the Children's Tax Allowance for the tax year 2002/03

If you have not received the allowance already, you can still claim it before the deadline of 31st January 2009.

You will need to phone HMRC on 0845 302 1437 and ask them to check whether you have already received this allowance - you will need your National Insurance Number.

You are eligible to claim an allowance of £520 if;

* You have a child born between 6th April 1986 and 5th April 2003 AND
* The child lived with you for all or part of that year AND
* You worked and paid tax for all or part of that year AND
* You or your partner earned over £6,000 in their 2002/03 Tax Year

You are eligible for an allowance of £1,040 if;

* You can answer yes to the four questions above, and
* One of your children was born between 6th April 2002 and 5th April 2003

NOTES
Making a claim does not affect your current or future entitlement to Working or Child Tax Credit.

Your marital staus is irrelevant.

You cannot claim the allowance twice and if your final tax code on April 2003's P60 ended in an H or T you have already had the allowance.

This is easy to claim, first phone the number above and check whether you have received the allowance (you probably have not).
You then need to write to your local Tax Office (ask HMRC for the address when you phone), with your details to claim the allowance.

NEW!!! NEW!!! NEW!!!

Here is a link to the HMRC Form which you can fill in and send to your local Tax Office. It's a PDF File so you will need Acrobat reader to download and print it.

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/11ctc.pdf

I am supplying the above for information purposes only and it does not constitute financial or tax advice.

If you need any help with your claim post a message here and I will do my best to answer any queries.

Also, it would be nice to see this wall filled with messages from people who have successfully claimed a bit of extra Christmas money !

What are you waiting for the clock is ticking.
